We’ve launched My Place 2020, which includes two different competitions that run at the same time.
My Place Awards
The My Place Awards celebrate community-led built environment initiatives that have produced a transformative project for their locality. The Awards honour projects that have excelled in terms of design and community involvement/impact.
Winners of the My Place Awards benefit from the opportunity to develop a national profile and evidence impact to potential and existing funders, as well as be featured in a short film about their project and in an exhibition at Glasgow’s The Lighthouse.
How to enter
This year we’ve revamped the nomination process to make it even simpler to apply.
Local people can nominate any project they think is special by tagging us on social media @scotcivictrust or by answering a few questions on myplacescotland.org.uk. The SCT team will then follow up with the nominated projects.
Community groups can also directly apply through our My Place website!
Click here to view the competition guidelines and learn more about the application and judging process. All entries should be made by 11:59pm, 16 February 2020.
My Place Photography
My Place Photography is a Scotland-wide, free to enter young person’s photography competition that encourages children to explore the buildings, architecture and archaeology around them!
The theme for this years competition is WATER, to tie in with the Scottish Government’s Year of Coasts and Waters. Think built heritage around beaches, rain, puddles, drainpipes, canals, bridges and more!
Pictured below are the winning prints from 2019. The competition is divided into Primary, Secondary and Young Person’s Choice.
