Young women explore heritage with Action for Children and the Scottish Civic Trust

The Scottish Civic Trust is working with Action for Children to support the Heritage and Inclusion Project, which reduces the levels of isolation felt by young women from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds at secondary schools in Edinburgh by helping them discover diverse history and heritage. The students’ participation in the programme contributes to their Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

This September the young women will be researching inspiring people and places, and they will create short film clips with the help of student filmmakers from Edinburgh Napier University. The girls’ research and their films will be shared widely throughout Black History Month in October.

Follow us on Twitter throughout October to hear the stories they uncover.
