This year, the 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗰 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 marks an incredible milestone: 𝟮𝟱𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘁’𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲, one of Glasgow’s oldest surviving buildings and our very own historic home.

Built in 𝟭𝟳𝟳𝟱, the House stands as a powerful witness to the city’s past shaped by the wealth of the tobacco trade and its deep ties to 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆.

Today, this space has been 𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱. Through careful restoration and an inclusive approach to heritage, the Tobacco Merchant’s House has become a place where 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱, 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱.

We’re proud to continue transforming a symbol of privilege and power into a hub for 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. It is a living example of how heritage can evolve and reflect 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱’𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗵, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆.
