Scotland’s Community Heritage Conversations 2026: Call for Contributions
Want to showcase your work at a national heritage conference this November?
We are very excited to announce that planning for our next hybrid conference is well under way.
Join us online or in-person at the Engine Shed in Stirling on Thursday 26 November for Scotland's Community Heritage Conversations 2026: Sharing our Strengths. A full day of inspiring presentations, lively discussion, hands on workshops, and plenty of chances to connect with peers from across the country.
Follow SCHC on Eventbrite to be the first to hear when booking goes live.
Call for Contributions
As ever, this conference is shaped by the collective experience and creativity of Scotland's heritage communities. We want it to be a space where we can learn from each other and celebrate the strength that comes from working together, and we want to hear from YOU with proposals for the content we should feature!
Are you a community group or heritage professional who has collaborated with another organisation in order to share your skills, fill in a knowledge gap or reach a new audience?
We are looking for proposals for presentations and workshops that highlight how collaboration - across communities, generations, cultures, or sectors - creates fresh opportunities for learning and growth. Presentations and workshops can include creative contributions, like recordings, film - whatever you need to show off your work. There will be tech support on the day to help you share your story.
How to apply
If you are interested in showcasing your work, please email developmentandcommunity@hes.scot by Friday 24 July quoting SCHC in the email title.
We are looking for short proposals (150-250 words) outlining:
• What you would cover
• How it demonstrates collaboration, the sharing of skills, or reaching new audiences
• Whether this would be a presentation (approx. 15-20 mins) or a workshop (approx. 45mins – 1 hour).
• Presentations should be suitable for a hybrid audience. For workshops, please indicate if you feel this would work best for an in-person or an online-only audience.
• We would like workshops to be engaging and interactive. Please indicate how you would plan in opportunities for collaboration to your session.
We will have a budget to cover reasonable expenses. Please provide an estimate of any expenses you would claim along with your proposal.
Please share this call with anyone who might want to contribute their voice, experience or ideas to the event.
