This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of The Scottish Civic Trust, a small charity with a national remit. Our organisation is experiencing a period of dynamic growth and we are seeking an Office Co-ordinator to support us as we continue our journey.
The Scottish Civic Trust is the national voice for Scotland’s civic and local heritage groups.  Founded in 1967 to help people connect to their built heritage and countryside, preserve the uniqueness of their locality and appreciate how this connects to the wider unique character of Scotland, we work to ensure that historic built heritage, its stories, and the wider historic environment is celebrated and preserved, working to ensure it is valued in modern life and planning decisions.  We take a place-based approach to involving all of Scotland’s communities in celebrating our rich heritage while ensuring its relevance in the present day.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Partnership and Membership Officer

Responsible to: Director

Salary/hours: 35 hours £33,000
Main purpose of job:
Overseeing the development of SCT’s affiliate membership through active recruitment of civic societies.  Communicating with members about training and benefits. Supporting staff to develop membership activities and benefits and working more widely with Comms staff to ensure joined up communications with membership.   
This post will also work to secure sponsorships through the development of relationships with companies who might be interested in supporting SCT’s portfolio of activities and future development.
The development of a Friends Scheme for individuals is also a key aspect of this post which will work with the wider staff team to develop offers and activities.
Main Responsibilities:
• To build on previous work of SCT staff by developing new approaches to securing affiliate memberships for SCT
• Co-ordinating the development of new membership and engagement activities for affiliate members
• Reviewing the pricing structure of memberships, building on existing research
• Liaising with communications and administrative staff to ensure member representation on SCT’s website and newsletters
• Actively recruit new memberships based on previous mapping work undertaken by SCT
• Develop sponsorship packages for potential supporters of SCT’s programmes
• Lead on identifying potential sponsors, coordinating approaches with support from SCT staff and management
• Ensure timely communication with existing sponsors, in partnership with comms staff to communicate the impact of their support
• With senior management, identify potential high-profile patrons for the organisation
• To attract individual members, the Partnerships and Membership Officer will develop a Friends Scheme for the organisation building on existing work and working closely with SCT and our web developers.
• Produce reports for Trustee Committees and the Board as appropriate
• Produce reports for funders to accurately reflect your activities and the impact of them.
