Could you be our next Finance and Audit Trustee? We’re recruiting!

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of The Scottish Civic Trust, a small charity with a national remit. Our organisation is experiencing a period of dynamic growth and we are seeking a Finance and Audit Trustee to support us as we continue our journey.

About us

The Scottish Civic Trust is the national voice for grassroots heritage, civic and community groups. We advocate at local and national levels to preserve cultural and built heritage, working in partnership with local community organisations to celebrate place and identity. We work with planning authorities to protect listed buildings and conservation areas, preserving the unique character of Scotland’s communities while working to champion urban design to enhance wellbeing and empower everyone, including marginalised groups, to share their heritage through our Diverse Heritage programme. We also celebrate our shared places and stories by working with schools, youth groups and community organisations through our My Place programme as well as leading on the National Doors Open Days Festival, the largest free festival in Scotland.

 

About the role

 Thank you for your interest in becoming a Trustee of the Scottish Civic Trust. We are looking for a new trustee to join and potentially Chair our Finance and Audit Committee who also has the following attributes:

 

  • Is from the financial sector
  • Has knowledge of charity accounting
  • Willingness to participate meaningfully in the decision-making of the Trust
  • Willingness to devote a small amount of time to supporting the Trust outside of quarterly meetings, including at specialist events.

 

There are 4 Committee meeting per year, usually two weeks before a board meeting.
