A look back on our Hooleys!
In February, we travelled to the ends of Scotland, from Dumfries to Shetland, to host our annual Heritage Hooleys!
The Heritage Hooleys are evening network receptions that we put on annually in February. Each year, we put on a Hooley in 2 regions of Scotland. For the Hooleys, we invite local community and heritage groups involved with the cultural, heritage and built environment sectors to learn from each other and build up local connections, with the opportunity to pick the brains of the sector’s major stakeholders.
We had such a lovely time connecting with our friends in Lerwick and Dumfries this year. We had some cracking chat about new venue and artist collaborations for Doors Open Days, knowledge-sharing about how to make heritage sites and museums more diverse and inclusive and we linked up with some possible My Place Mentoring groups looking to take on a building for community ownership! It was great to meet so many of you and we’re excited to host more Hooleys in the future.
